My Education and Professional Background
Currently, I'm working to obtain my Doctorate in Education through the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. I study technology-enhanced learning design and am honored to have an advisor that previously worked with the US Department of Education as well as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. I earned my Masters in Teaching from Western Governors University and earned my California Single Subject Credential (Biology) in 2016. Recently, my love for Biochemistry inspired me to also become certified in Chemistry. I hold several EdTech certifications including Google Certified Educator Level 2, Microsoft Innovative Educator, and Apple Teacher.
My Educational Philosophy
I strongly believe that the active, exploratory processes that make research so rewarding can also form the core of teaching. I want my students to view learning as a process of problem-solving and discovery. I hope to help students develop traits such as responsibility and motivation in order to facilitate learning now and in the future.
